How To Prioritize The Right Business Relationships, Right Now

Knowing which relationships to prioritize is essential to any business. In this article, learn how to build routines within your current network to prioritize the relationships needed to immediately maintain or advance your specific business.

Begin Prioritizing Your Most Profitable Relationships

If you’re in a #BeautifullyStrategic Community, join a cohort to start with your fellow cohorts. If not, choose any current network and begin by visiting each member’s profile, website or biography to determine if anyone matches your user persona(s). When they do, use the results of your market research to pick up to 3 relationships to prioritize this quarter. Then, take regular, focused action throughout the quarter to maintain those three relationships.

Be sure to consider where each contact is – as in the top, middle or end of your sales funnel. Depending on the answer, engaging with them on social media once a week or month may be enough to build awareness. If they host events, maybe attending one each month will help establish brand authority. The actions may vary and they may change depending on current goals but the opportunities remains the same.

For example, signing up for a newsletter to learn more about a business and then scheduling time to document anything learned could lead to acting on that new information. Whatever the strategic choice, remember the goal is to achieve a win/win situation for both your brand and your prospect. Depending on your brand and industry, this could take time. So, block and batch your time accordingly to make sure you don’t waste any.

Prioritizing Between Different Networks

Having more than one network to choose from can be valuable but also overwhelming. When running into this problem choose the network that has the highest number of user persona matches for your brand. This may mean testing each group for potential matches which is worth the effort to avoid missing the higher payoff.
